The beers as bands, and DISKO BREWING as a music label

Beer is music to our ears.

let’s play loud!

There is no coincidence the people that make up the DISKO BREWING team got together and entered the brewing scene. Some have known each other for decades. Those years have been filled with music: As musicians, as band managers, as music artwork designers. And in the midst of all this they have been running bars and restaurants and brewing beer at home. The core fundamentals behind the DISKO team’s individual careers have been DIY attitudes — carving out niches.

DISKO BREWING’s aim is to cater to beer lovers, and create a tasteful universe where everyone will find their favorite beer within DISKO’s range; whether part of our core series DISKO CLASSICS, or within the more obscure experimental beers that drop in-between DISKO CLASSICS releases.

We love fresh and clean beers, but sometimes the volume must go up to 11

Each beer is a performer.

AND You are the stage.

DISKO BREWING operates with two groups of beers: The clean acts and the experimental acts. DISKO CLASSICS represents the clean acts, known to be fresh, classic, colorful, and can help you out when you are feeling super thirsty. These are our staples, they do the work, they get on the stage and deliver each time. And then we have the underground acts, the place where DISKO goes clubbing and find tunes that are harmonious, but got that tougher attitude – this is the POX SERIES.

DAVID JOHANNESEN is the brewer that keeps all our beers by the ears and maintains the classic beer tunes modern and fresh as well as letting the other adventurous tunes pave way for new grounds. Experimentation is key to discover paths not taken before. These explorations might result in a perfect melody that can become an instant hit — and over time — A True DISKO Classic

Located just outside Drammen city, DISKO BREWING finds inspiration and peace among farmers and crops

do country music rock?

at least the countryside rocks our socks.

The origin of the DISKO name is simple: It represents something joyful that brings people together. The DISKO team fell in love with it’s connotations. And being located more or less in the countryside in LIER, just a few shy miles outside DRAMMEN CITY, NORWAY, the contrasting elements of disco and farm life is as perfect as it sounds — it tells you who we are and what we do. After all, when brewer DAVID JOHANNESEN puts on his workwear early in the morning, it is surprisingly similar to what neighboring farmers sport. But each week has a weekend that brings out the other sides of us; Off with the wellingtons, on with the white sneakers or the chelsea boots.

What’s a band without merch?

pop stars got wild outfits.

—

beers got labels.

Our beers get our full attention, not only when we are meticulously fine tuning recipes, but the appearances as well. Our philosophy is that who we are and what we represent has to show. And we wear that on our sleeves – in this case – the beer labels. The beers we brew are rooted in traditions, as is the beer design heritage. Classic crests, but with an odd, modern take. Each beer their own name designed like it could be a band’s logo walking down the striped road.
The visual DISKO universe is yet to be fully explored. Art and beer; it’s todays Arts and Crafts movement!
